Brief statement of purpose of work
What is the study about?
The purpose of the study is to examine the way that people interpret social information. Specifically, we are interested in the factors that influence how we make judgements about what happens during interactions with other people. Participation will take no more than 30 minutes.
What will be expected of me as a participant?
You will complete a short demographic survey, read a short vignette about a social interaction, and then respond to questions about the vignette you read.
Will it be confidential?
Yes. We will not ask for any information that could be used to identify you.
Will it be anonymous?
Yes. We will not store any data you generate in a way that could link it to you individually.
Will it affect my relationship with the University?
No. Neither your participation, your refusal to participate, nor your exercising your right to withdraw, will have any impact on your relationship with Plymouth University. Equally, nothing you do in line with the experimental instructions will affect your relationship with Plymouth University.
Can I withdraw?
You may at any time discontinue the study without penalty.
